NailFile’s founder was traveling for work as a beauty brand executive and national trainer. The night before, a fresh set of nails had turned out just right. Then, while reaching for a bag and getting off the plane, one nail broke.

There was time for a repair—but in an unfamiliar city, where to begin? What product had been used? What was the exact shade number? Which salon offered the same service, along with the care and atmosphere that made the original appointment feel so good?

The idea began with a simple wish: to carry those details along, instead of starting from scratch somewhere new.

Years later, while shaping a concept for an elevated nail salon, that moment returned. Beyond a beautiful space, what could make the experience distinctive? One answer was software that remembered the client’s usual—their service, preferences, and the small details that help an appointment feel intuitive.

What began as a way to set one salon apart became the focus in its own right. The salon plans were set aside as the software vision grew into Nailfile: a personal record that could travel with the client and give their next artist a more informed place to begin.

NailFile development began in 2014. The product centers on continuity, personal choice, and thoughtful service.
